Love and Java
An interactive fiction created entirely within pure HTML (+CSS), for the Anti-Productivity Jam. Roughly 3200+ words, but each playthrough should take no more than 5 minutes.
Content Warnings:
While the writing is inherently wishy washy and dances around all the delicate subject matter, there are allusions to poor mental health and its consequences (isolation, substances, complacency with being British, etc.) Player discretion is advised. How to Play:
When you first load the page, you'll simply see the title, click on that to proceed. From there, it's just a matter of reading through and clicking on the appropriate buttons. Will you stay awake or find a way to get back to sleep?Due to the timeframe of the jam and my absolute ineptitude, the latter half of the game is crazy rushed so I legitimately apologise. I'd love to expand on this and pad out some areas once the jam has long passed, but this project primarily serves as an exercise in frontend web dev, but like... without the icky parts.
While this game is technically playable on mobile, be warned that some buttons are meant to say "No" after being hovered over, and I haven't properly adapted this feature to touchscreen devices. Your best bet for now is to either ignore those buttons or play on PC, I'm sorry!

A very relaxing and nostalgic experience, I too wake up sometimes as a moth. And sometimes I get an iced coffee instead.
